    installing genpix and prof 7500

Because of Bogie i have learned a ton in a night. Here is how to install the prof or genpix and use them with ME. I think almost all E2 images will have these files so it should work on Openatv, HDMU etc. This is the easiest way I have found and I dont think it needs modding of any type (will probably regret writing that) EDIT : Also this should work with minime...although I have not tried it.

    For Prof:
    1. Install this fw in directory lib/firmware. Change the ending from .txt to .fw first.
(file is at bottom of post)

    2. in your image Go menu, and go to either plugins....or to software. In Plugins you need to go to software management plugin. Then to advanced...and then packet management. It will load and list a bunch of packages. 100's of them. It will take a while to load them and you will get spinning wheels, but it is working on loading them not freezing your box. The ones that have color beside them you have loaded in your box...the ones that dont are not loaded. You can scroll down by the arrow up and down button on your remote which takes for ever to get half way down the list....or much easier and I had to learn this the hard way...use the numbers on the remote. 9 takes you about 1/4 down the list 6 and 3 a little less. Then use arrows to move up or down one at a time.

Anyway about half way down the list you will come to a part of the list that has "kernel Modules" this is where you will find the files for this device there are 3 files (edited from 2) ...find Kernel-Module-STVO900 Load it. It will ask you if you want to reboot answer NO. This will return you to the top of the list. Use 9 on your remote to get back to same place quickly. Then load Kernel-Module-ST STV0900 Frontend. Again it will ask if you want to restart: NO. Then 9 down to the following file Kernel -Module-dw2102(this one is up the list quite a bit from the other two files) . Again answer NO to restart. Exit all the way out back to viewing TV.. using exit button. Attach Prof by usb cable. Then Menu ... and restart the box. If all went well when box boots back up...press menu. system.. service searching.. tuner setup. Two tuners will be listed...the first is the azme tuner...below should be prof. Setup prof sats etc. Then menu setup ...customize...it should have a setting as to which tuner to use ....default....A...or B... prof is tuner B. Press green button to save...and then go to a sat and see if it tunes with prof. most skins list which tuner they are using. Play with settings in customize to use which tuner you want. You may want to use prof to watch and record certain sats while you watch others with aztuner or vice versa. Also some images have a setting to record with a certain tuner you can play with that as well in the customize area.

(Edited and corrected above: need 3 files)

    2. Genpix. Follow the same steps as above in prof to get to packet list. use number 9 to get back to Kernel-Module list about half way down. The genpix file is quite a bit above the STVO900 one. You are looking for Kernel-Module-dvb-usb-gp8psk. Load it. It will ask if you want the machine to reboot.....NO. EDIT You will need one more package located right below or near the first one. 9 back down to the above file then look for dvb-usb-gp8psk-Kernel Modules Driver for Genpix DVB-S. Load it. No to reboot. Exit all the way back to watching TV. Attach Genpix by usb. Menu and restart the the azbox. The genpix should be listed as second tuner . Set it up with sats etc.

To scan and view DVB-S stations do as normal.

To scan and view turbo 8psk.....need to manual scan sat. input transponder info....make sure to first set it as DVB S2 ...8psk. Then change it to DVB-s so it will retain the 8psk setting but not list it on the screen. Scan. Channels should load in. View them.

Now the problem with genpix is that once you use the az tuner then go back to genpix...the genpix will tune but not show video or audio. Also the Genpix will not be able to tune back to the turbo 8psk channels because it will have "lost" the 8psk setting in DVb-S. You will need to restart the box to get the genpix showing video again. You will have to repeat above to scan the channels back in. Edit...You may try to just restart enigma to get video back...but will have to probably rescan any turbo 8psk channels in to watch them.

A good place to test this is with Velocity on 110.

    3. There are packaes for may other tuners there. If you have a diffrent one it may be listed..but I have not tested it. But you may want to try it and post results. STVO90X is there which I think you use for TBS cards though not sure...and it may need more than one package and the others I would not know about...but someone with a TBS card may be able to tell.

I'm sure this will need to be edited...but once done and all questions answered and quirks worked out..maybe we can make this a sticky.

    Hope this helps.

    The Genpix will not do turbo Qpsk or DCII when using it with the AZME or Minime. If someone with linux skills can edit the .fw file to make the genpix tune the following we can get more out of it;

    1. DVB-S stays the same....DVB S

    2. Turbo 8psk needs to be changed to where it gets tuned by DVB S2 8psk setting instead of dvb-s 8psk.

    3. Turbo Qpsk gets tuned by DVB S2 qpsk setting. Currently it cant be tuned.

I do not have these skills. I have attached the Genpix FW file . Change the .txt to .fw and then you can look at it or edit it.

thanks to anyone that can do this.

Amigo..
Compralo, documentate y echale ganas.. Pero lo que si te digo es que de VU+ no vas a tener mucha ayuda que digamos para ese asunto.. Podrias recibir mejor ayuda de Vix-Gigablue, "o" agluna otra imagen que le valga un "Comino" el Turbo
    suerte
